This is really hard to believe but encouraging if true. Sorry, but practically speaking it would only take one person who has a change of heart to blow the whole thing up. That's why doubting JWs tend to keep it to themselves because they 1) don't know who to trust and 2) even if you trust someone today, they could rat you out tomorrow because of the cult mind control. In short, you can't trust any active JW with information that you don't want shared when it comes to disagreeing with the WTS. Those that do ultimately get discovered. -

Just take a look at that Correspondence Guidelines that was posted earlier today. 100+ pages of WT rules that the rank & file aren't necessarily aware even apply to them. -

I guess when I read visitation rights, I see that as something legally enforceable. I didn't realize that grandparents had the ability to legally to see a grandchild with the same enforcement as a parent. I was always under the assumption that parents had complete control over who their kids spent time with.
Where is the line drawn? If I had grandparents (or anyone else for that matter) who I though was bad association for my kids, there's no way I'd let the person near them. That's really messed up that there is even a legal battle here.
At least the grandparents aren't shunning the grandchild so I guess that's a positive. I know of several situations where the parents are df'ed and the grandparents shun the grandkids as well. What a jacked up cult.

Today's watchtower: obey us, no matter what
by Tornintwo intoday's watchtower:.
obey us, obey us even when it seems strange, obeying our man made hierarchy equates to obeying god, sacrifice your own interests, work for us, don't be independent, put your own interests aside, obey some more, preach for us, build for us, enjoy it, obey some more, forgive when we are jerks to you and mistreat you, accept your changed assignment even if it seems cruel and doesn't make sense, don't complain if we move you (eg.
) because you might have to move in the new world, remember you are being trained to obey, remember to put your own interests aside, that's the way we are designed to live - it will only make you happy!

Someone made a comment about the last Bethel downsizing a few years ago not realizing there is one that was recently announced.
The more I think about the JW version of paradise, the more it sounds like hell. No freedom to choose your job? no freedom to choose where you live? At least in today's world, you can choose basic things like that (to some degree at least in the 1st world).
Even if everything they said is true, I don't want to live there! I'd rather die (actually I know I will at some point) in this wicked world than to spend one day in "paradise".

No 'Tight Pants' policy is now official - classed as 'disturbing'
by wizzstick inin short:- tight pants is no longer just a am3 hang up (or is that a hang up on the well hung?
)- brothers who have effeminate body language are flagged up- as are sisters with 'masculine' hair styles or dress- such dress is 'disturbing to the congregation'- the above must heed the (repeated) counsel from the elders...or they get stripped of the right to share on the ministry- however...this will not be revealed (announced) to the congregation.
wow.

What I believe interesting about this is many of my friends have mentioned in private conversations in smaller groups that it's insane that the GB would be focusing on what sort of clothes people wear when they should be concentrating on other things. It's been a running joke for the last year or so after the US branch visit where he went off on it.
Sure, conservative religions have restrictive views on all sorts of things but I will say that while born-ins who have stuck around and are in their 30s & 40s are still relatively conservative, they are much more liberal than older JWs and tend to blow off this type of stuff and do what they want.

Does it really cost 1300 per month for a SP? I thought in the US they only got a 600 stipend. That would move the figure to 11.5m per year (USD) -

Has anyone noticed how in the October JW Broadcast, Losch encourages good works towards ALL people?
by Tenacious ini can't help but notice how this past year alone has seen the gb start to turn more towards the teachings of the christ instead of peddling their falsities.. study articles have talked in length about the fine works of christ.
assemblies have been dedicated to speaking about christ.
and this month's broadcast is about doing good to others copying the example christ left for us.. what's more shocking is that losch actually says kids should speak, share, and even give food and clothing to non-believers!!

When they start letting people report time for that type of thing or they actually sponsor programs to help the community, then there will be a real change. Otherwise this is just lip service.
